The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) unveiled the changes on 29 September 2025.

• The new visit visa categories include:

  1. AI Specialists

  2. Entertainment

  3. Events

  4. Cruise / leisure / yacht / marine tourism-related visits

• These visa types are designed to attract talent in sectors like technology, tourism, culture, and entertainment.

• Under the new rules:

  • Duration of stay and extension conditions will be defined per visa type.

  • Sponsorship/host entities must provide letters detailing the nature and duration of the visit (for events, entertainment, etc.).

• Along with these new categories, amendments to entry permit rules are being made to support the broader visa reform strategy.

• The move is part of a larger push by the UAE to become more open, attract international talent, boost tourism and economic growth, and modernize visa frameworks.
