Saudi Arabia: 30-Day Grace Period for Expired Visit Visa Holders

n a significant relief for visitors in Saudi Arabia, authorities have announced a 30-day grace period for individuals whose visit visas have expired. During this time, visitors can exit the Kingdom without facing fines or legal penalties.
The announcement is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to streamline visa policies and provide flexible options for expatriates and tourists. Travelers are strongly encouraged to make arrangements and leave the country within this 30-day window to avoid future bans or penalties, the General Directorate of Passports announced.
The extension, which applies to all categories of visit visas, took effect on Sunday, July 27, and is conditional on the payment of any outstanding fines and fees in line with Saudi regulations.
In a statement, the directorate said that eligible individuals can request departure through the “Tawasul” service on the Ministry of Interior’s digital “Absher” platform.
